MF logo We are members of the Morris Federation, an organisation which coordinates and promotes Morris Dancing.

Pateley Longsword, was formed in 2004 by experienced dancers from other Morris traditions.

All our longsword dances are devised by ourselves and we try to bring a vitality and freshness to the tradition.

We intersperse the longsword with other dances such as a Basque dance or a Border Morris dance.

Pateley Bridge is in Nidderdale, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. The nearest towns are Harrogate and Ripon, North Yorkshire.

"Many thanks for the great gig last night - it was thoroughly enjoyed by absolutely everyone (not least of all our European visitors), and "excellent!" was the most used epithet.

Personally, I was hugely impressed that you were able to put out a four-man (person) sword team and make it work - congrats to all concerned!
There were a lot of comments about the variety of the programme, the way you included the audience, and, of course, the great sense of humour and naturally, the music was outstanding!

It was hugely enjoyed and appreciated by everyone - please pass on my thanks to all the team.
